To be certified as a Professional Transportation Planner® you must meet all of the following requirements:
New Requirements Effective November 21, 2024 are:
1. Have an accredited master's or Ph.D. degree in planning or transportation and a minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience in transportation planning; or have an accredited bachelor's degree in planning or transportation and a minimum of four (4) years of professional work experience in transportation planning; or have an accredited bachelor's degree and a minimum of six (6) years of professional work experience in transportation planning; or any accredited degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience in transportation planning.
2. Take and attain a passing score on the Professional Transportation Planning (PTP) exam as administered by the Transportation Professional Certification Board (TPCB); and
3. Have paid the application/examination fee and the three-year certification fee.
4. After initial certification, have met the renewal requirements for the PTP
